Alexander loves dressing up (and so do I) and with Christmas around the corner I didn’t have to think twice when I got an invitation to come and visit the Ivoy Paris Haute, Couture children’s costumes showroom in Paris.
I was amazed at what I saw and believe me when I say that their costumes take you to the most exquisite dream world of myths and legends… Little girls in frocks fit for Marie-Antoinette, the Rose Queen, Princess Anastasia and the Princess of Bagatelle. Petite prince charmings aren’t left out either, with costume choices including Franz-Joseph, Duke of Wellington and the Musketeers. Each outfit is handmade and made of original fabrics like silks, taffetas, tulles and every single detail is there to help children realise their dreams.
All costumes are designed by Elisabeth Poype who is the youngest of a French aristocratic family. She fell in love with fabrics and colours at an early age. As a child in the family castle, she collected odd and ends of fabrics and was taught to sew by her mother. Elisabeth decided to go and study business and couture in Paris and New York. In 2006, she turned her passion into her profession and founded Ivoy Paris.
