MEET THE MODEL GABE

Do you wonder what it’s like behind the scenes of a photo shoot? Or what it is like to be a child model?!

It’s different every time of course, childrens fashion photographer Emily Kornya has worked for Lamantine, Je suis en CP! Hilda.Henri, The Small Gatsby and many others, but there is a general pattern each time that your child will either love or hate.

Where do you live?

In upstate New York and Manhattan.

What languages do you speak?

I speak English, and am learning Spanish in school.

When did you start modelling?

I was five. My first job was a Vogue Bambini runway show, and my parents were worried that I would decide not to walk at the last second. But it was great!

Do you travel for modelling?

I’ve worked in Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. So far. I was on hold for a job in Belgium once, which was really exciting.

Whats your favourite thing about modelling

I like seeing my friend at the go sees, and finding my pictures in stores!

Do you have a favourite shoot? If so what was it and why?

I worked for Lovesac, which is a company that makes bean bag chairs and couches. They asked me jump around on all the furniture! It was great…I can’t decide, there was also a runway show where I got to walk and hold hands with my crush. My face looks so amazed in the photos! I’m older now, so I think I would handle it better now.

Funniest memory from a shoot?

I was doing a local charity runway show, and when I went to get my clothes for the event they had dresses set out for me. They thought I was Gabrielle.

If you could shoot for any designer right now, who would it be?

If I could shoot for any designer, I think it would be Ralph Lauren, because I like his clothes and a lot of my friends have worked with that company before.

Do you like fashion? if so which designers do you like? what stores do you like to shop at?

Do I like fashion? OMG, I LOVE fashion! I don’t have a favourite designer, but I definitely have favourite stylists and photographer that I love to work with. They make the shoot more than the clothes do. I’d like to wear Jared Flood, because his clothes are handmade, comfortable, and they look really good. I got to meet him when I modelled the Brooklyn Tweed kid’s line, and he’s super nice.

What do you want to do when you grow up?

I want to be an architect and a fashion designer.

Movies: Center Stage, the Lego movie.

Music/singers: Katy Perry, Idina Mendel… I like uplifting music!

Toys/games: I got a DR for my birthday, and I like to play Pokemon.

Sports: Baseball, ballet, soccer, and ice skating.

Foods: wow. Ok. Oranges, bananas, grapes, double chocolate cake, and sour cream n’ onion chips.

Chocolate brand: Hershey kisses!

Vacation location: Singer Island Florida and Cancun, Mexico.
