Yes! Finally! The super funky new Finnish label Papu Design is now available on their own website.
Papu, translated as ‘Bean’ in English, is designed for children from 0- 8 years old. Unisex prints, unique designs and very comfortable according to Alexander who tested two items. The clothes are mainly made from soft organic cotton-spandex.
Designed in Finland by founder and brand manager of Papu, Anna Kurkela, the first collection was launched in November 2012. Inspired by a story about a bird who loved beautiful buttons the collection is called ‘Papu ja nappisade’ (‘Bean and the button rain’ in English). All their clothes are made with care in Portugal by a Finnish-owned company. Which means they have consistent quality control and the ability to manufacture the clothes as ecologically and ethically as possible. The delicious artwork of the fabrics and the pictures of the storybook “Papu ja Nappisade” (‘Bean and Buttonrain’) are made by Hanna-Riikka Heikkilä.
A new Papu book and a new collection inspired by its story are launched once a year. Additions are made for every collection year around. Papu wants to differ from the ordinary season-based thinking: that is why the clothes look good no matter what the season or year is!
Alexander is wearing the ‘Papusade’ T-shirt and the legging with patches. What do you think of this Finnish brand?
