LA PRINCESSE AU PETIT POIS

When in France, don’t be surprised to find yourself out-dressed by a mademoiselle ou garcon de cinq ans. Sometimes it seems fashion is something that courses through the veins of les français…

La Princesse au Petit Pois (The Princess and the Pea) is a classic French brand of children’s clothing that I discovered a little while ago through some of my French friends. I did some research and the capes, dresses, bloomers and blouses really caught my attention.

La Princesse au Petit Pois, founded by Alexandra Darcissac, has been around for 20 years! All clothes are handmade in Alexandra’s workshop in Montpellier and the cotton and linen fabrics she uses are made of high quality.

Last but not least, Alexandra also connects with the best artists to photograph her collection. We teamed up with our favourite children’s fashion photographer Emily Kornya to capture Faye and Alexander who are both dressed in La Princesse au Petit Pois.

Faye is dressed in La Princesse au Petit Pois’s ‘Jeu de Go’ shirt combined with ‘Tweed River’ shorts and Collegien tights. Alexander is wearing La Princesse au Petit Pois’s red ‘Mistral Gagnant’ salopette combined with Collegien socks.
