The London based company Chapter 2 presents a full range of fantastic handmade footwear designed specifically for children, created by husband and wife duo Tom and Fay. Fay started out working for noted designed Dries Van Noten in Belgium, designing and creating accessories. It was here that she cultivated her passion for fashion and beautiful colours. Not long after, she relocated to Barcelona where she began to design footwear for a small and selective boutique based in New York. All this, plus her experience working for a huge range of UK fashion brands makes her exceedingly qualified as a footwear designer, so you know your child’s shoes are in the right hands.
The company itself was founded in 2013 following the birth of Fay and Tom’s second child, Shea – hence the name, Chapter 2, to represent the second chapter of their family. With Tom’s creative expertise in shoemaking, the two decided to put Faye’s background in shoe design to good use, making up and creating gorgeous shoes and accessories for children between 4 and 10 years old. The shoes are specifically created to offer the utmost comfort and luxury to a child’s feet, and can be worn by children of any gender.
All of the shoes are made locally in the family’s in-house workshop near London, so they are the very definition of organic. The belts, meanwhile, are crafted with the utmost care by professional Italian belt makers, using soft and supple Italian leathers. The quality of the materials carries over into the finished products, which are unique, original and beautiful.
The shoes and belts are available in a range of stylish colours and designs. They follow a largely similar boot style, with bold stripes and solid block colours, and they are the ideal complement to any outfit.
