Motoreta was created in Seville by architects Cristina Lopez-Lago and Maria Llerena. The two partners had an idea: to make children’s clothing mirroring their own fun design work. Primary colours, contemporary cuts, sophisticated simplicity, comfort and quality.
The Motoreta AW17 collection, WE ARE NATURE, is shot in the Rio Tinto mines, an almost surreal and lunar landscape located in Huelva, at the East-south of Andalusia, and is inspired by the connection between nature, fashion, architecture and land art.
Cristina and Maria want to pay tribute to the land art movement artists Nancy Holt, Walter de Maria or Andy Goldsworthy which work is based in the relation between nature and art. The result is a collection of strong prints inspired by the lines of landscapes, abstract graphics and colours extracted directly from nature that tell us about our relation with earth.
The key pieces of the collection are the dresses, with clean patterns detailed with frills, big pockets, and sophisticated collars; but also the overalls and knittted garments. The pallet: shades of green, sandstone, blue, black, burgundy, white and grey, stripes, dots, geometries and cavernous forms.
