Today a sneak peek of the iglo+indi AW17 collection ‘Reykjavik Heroes’ that draws inspiration from the early 90s.
If you were a teenager in the late 80s or 90s, then you know that the grunge look was everywhere. Neil Young (who is known as the Godfather of Grunge), Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and Soundgarden had gained huge commercial success and their style was influencing fashion. People who dressed in grunge were seen as the ultimate rebels of their generation.
Helga Ólafsdóttir, the founder of the brand, presents her new collection as follow;
“As we listen to Nirvana and The Sugarcubes, with Björk at the helm, wearing their oversized band t-shirts, we are ourselves, authentic and imperfect. We immerse ourselves with their style and music and express our creativity exuberantly.
We are the Reykjavík Heroes. We come as we are and rock our imperfections.
With stars, cats, wolfs, tigers and camo, misty colours of moon, caramel, dusty pink and the northern sky, the collection is a little rock with a twist of independence.’
